Starting the program

General information

The program package CACTVS Tree is dedicated to the visualization of reaction files generated by the reaction prediction program EROS7. The basis of this program is the Tkserver written by Dr. W.-D. Ihlenfeldt, who named his system CACTVS. In recognition of his achievements and as reaction prediction normally have the shape of a tree the system is called CACTVS Tree. It is written in the Tcl/Tk language and is running under IRIX, Solaris, and Linux .

This manual describes version 1.1 (May 26th, 1998) of CACTVS Tree.
It assumes that you are familiar with the basic operations of your running operating system.

Installation of the program

The CACTVS Tree consists of the following files:

· cstr The shell script, which sets environment variables and starts the program

· rxntree.tk The Tcl/Tk program

· manual.html The online help information written in HTML.

Starting the program

The CACTVS Tree is started from the command line with ,,cstr". If a filename is specified, CACTVS Tree reads the file and the reaction tree is displayed in the area provided. If no file name is given, the canvas is empty and the program is waiting for instructions. The important areas of the main window are tagged in the figure below.
