Information Visualization
We have used the anti-tumor screening database of the US National Cancer Institute (NCI)
to develop methods for the visualization of database contents. Our tool aims at
facilitating the visual discovery of cancerostatic drugs with a similar activity
profile against selected cancer cell lines. This kind of visualization may be beneficial
for finding new lead compounds. All compounds in the 3D scene are linked to
corresponding database queries. Convenient retrieval of further information such as
structure 2D plots is possible.
