applies to CAS Academic Program participants.  If you do not have
access to CAS files under the CAS Academic Program, you may continue.
Otherwise, please read the terms below.
Terms and Conditions for Academic Institutions
I am a current faculty or administrative staff member, or officially
registered student of the College or University.
I will use the CAS Academic Program to access STN, STN on the Web, or
STN Easy only for my own academic or educational research.
I will not use the CAS Academic Program for commercial research.
Nor will I use the CAS Academic Program in the course of work
to provide research to any outside organization or to provide a
search-for-fee service.  If I require research for commercial
purposes, I will perform the search using an STN commercial account.
I will use my search results in the ordinary course of academic
research and acknowledge that I may store search results in
electronic form for the duration of research projects.  I will
abide by the current "General Data Use Restrictions for STN Files"
(see http://www.cas.org/restrict.html).  I may share search results in
a limited, reasonable way with other College or University students or
faculty working on the same project, but I will not aggregate my
electronic search results with those of anyone else beyond what is
permitted.  I will delete stored records when I no longer need them
for the relevant research project, or after the completion of my
degree program, whichever occurs first.  If I need to use search
results beyond what is described here, I will contact my College or
University Account Administrator to discuss and to obtain CAS
permission.  I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I AM NOT PERMITTED TO DISTRIBUTE
ANY CAS DATA FOR COMMERCIAL GAIN OR OTHERWISE, OUTSIDE THE COLLEGE,
UNIVERSITY OR TO THIRD PARTIES.
I acknowledge that the College or University has signed a CAS Academic
Program Order Form and an STN Agreement and Order Form to provide
access to STN, STN on the Web, or STN Easy, and that violation of the
agreement by any user could result in a termination of the agreement
for all users.
I will contact CAS or my account administrator with any questions
related to the use of the CAS Academic Program to access STN, STN
on the Web, or STN Easy.
